Over a four-year period, Sabine County Hospital was facing an ever-mounting economic crisis. Our Critical Access hospital was designated a Level 4 Trauma center in this retirement area of East Texas and is vital to the local economy, fueled by tourism and retirement.
Two years of almost breaking even financially were followed by two years of dismal performance, losing $2 million dollars over the period; virtually depleting all of the cash reserves built up over the previous 28 years.
The professionalism of Preferred Management was quickly evident as they came in with the expertise and attention to detail we could not attain locally. Extremely knowledgeable in hospital operations, they have turned the once dismal financial picture around while ensuring personnel are utilized to their full potential, never losing sight of the ultimate goal of patient care.
