Preferred Management was incorporated in 1987 by a group of health care veterans with more than 90 years combined experience in rural and community hospital management. This experience ranges from on-site administration to group-managed hospitals, both in the not-for-profit and proprietary arenas.

From the beginning, Preferred Management has been a leader in hospital management. Our managed hospitals include Parmer County Community Hospital in Friona, Texas, and Arbuckle Memorial Hospital in Sulphur, Oklahoma. 

In recent years, the evolution of health care has led Preferred to expand into lease arrangements with hospitals. Our leased facilities include Collingsworth General Hospital in Wellington, Texas; Culberson Hospital in Van Horn, Texas; Kimble Hospital in Junction, Texas; Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill, Texas; and Schleicher County Medical Center in Eldorado, Texas.

All of our partner hospitals have 100 beds or less.
