Karla Betterton, CPA,
As the leader of Preferred’s financial operations, Karla oversees all corporate accounting functions. Her responsibilities include the consolidation of Preferred’s balance sheet and operating statements, management of cash flow and investments, oversight of all Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, tax planning and reporting, debt management and home office payroll.
With expertise in Medicare and Medicaid regulations, Karla understands the challenges unique to rural healthcare accounting and utilizes her knowledge in this area to guide Preferred’s home office accountants in providing financial information to home office and local management that is vital to the operations of our facilities.
Karla has 30 years of experience in accounting with 20 years of healthcare experience working for Preferred Management. She also has experience with corporate and individual tax preparation, compilations and audits. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
