Mike’s broad background in rural healthcare operations and government relations make him an important asset to our partner hospitals.

As head of hospital operations, Mike is actively involved in overseeing administrative operations as well as recruiting professional staff and physicians for member hospitals. An experienced governmental liaison, he also works with state and federal agencies to obtain grants and the legislative support necessary to ensure rural hospitals have the tools to succeed.

Mike’s 30 years of experience include Director of the Texas State Office of Rural Health for the Texas Department of Rural Affairs, Board of Directors of Texas Rural Health Association, Chair of the Rural Hospital Constituency Group for Texas Hospital Association, Policy Council of the Texas Hospital Association, Board of Directors of Texas Hospital Insurance Exchange and Assistant Regional Director at the Texas Department of Health.
