Karla's pleasant demeanor is complemented by her ability to inspire Preferred's entire accounting department with her detailed approach to "getting it done right." She has more than 20 years experience in accounting and tax preparation.

As head of Preferred's accounting staff, Karla is responsible for all corporate-level accounting. Her responsibilities include the consolidation of operating statements and balance sheets, management of cash flow and investments, cost reporting, audit management, tax planning and reporting, debt management and corporate payroll.

An expert in Medicare and Medicaid regulations, Karla understands the challenges that are unique to rural health care accounting. Her projections on cost reporting have proved invaluable to partner hospitals, health care providers and Preferred.
